First Day Funk!

Posted by | | 0 comments

First day in your job is very much different from your first day at school. Two completely disparate worlds.

New work, new environment, new people, new friends and of course new prospects! wooot!

So how was your first day? it was better than expected. way better than my first two orientations in my past jobs.

How do you find the people? Warm and approachable and a little bit of curious (they’re all looking at us with those “ohh newly hired employees”). I like the fact that they are approachable and easy to talk with. nice one.

what about the workplace? Aside from the fact that it’s a multinational company, even if it’s big, it’s cozy, has a good ambiance and has a fairly cold weather. Very conducive to work.

Quote for the day : The consequence of an accident is just a matter of luck.

Any interesting trivia or info learned? All accidents are caused by Unsafe acts (86%), Unsafe condition (12%) and Natural disaster (2%). We could not prevent (per se) accident form happening but we could somehow manage to avoid it.

A 0.1 ampere can easily stop your heartbeatNew prospect/s?. Yes. He’s kinda cute. he’s so cute he almost looks like a cartoon figure. HA HA HA. Looking forward to spotting cuties in the several days to come. HA!

One word to describe your day? Exceptional

Anything else? To make our first day at work more fun and exciting, the company gave us free lunch and before the day is over, they also gave us a BIG BAG OF GOODIES (filled with company’s products). We went home with a smile etched in our faces. They really know how to treat their employees well.

day 5: picture of somewhere you’ve been to.

Posted by | | 0 comments

Last year semester break, My sorority sisters and I went to the beautiful town of Taal and lemery, Batangas, it’s a beautiful spot with lots of historical sights. You can witness and feel the old days during the Spanish period. One of the famous attraction there is the Basilica of San Martin De tours

Basilica of San Martin De Tours or Taal Basilica is the most visited place, because it’s fabled as the biggest in Southeast Asia. One noticeable thing is the church façade of the 17th century style, and the limestone blocks.Father Diego Espina built the church in 1575 in San Nicholas. The church was destroyed when Taal Volcano erupted in 1754. The church was reconstructed at its present location in 1755. However, an earthquake destroyed the church in 1849. The current church was rebuilt in 1856, and was administered by Architect Lucina Oliver. The church construction was finished in 1878. Source

We weren’t able to climb the bell tower because it is closed at that time. but we had the chance to explore almost every corner of the church and its vicinity. It’s a wonderful sanctuary. We didn’t had the time to explore more of the town’s other must-see destinations because we had other plans. We wish to come back here soon. If you wish to know more about the beautiful province, go visit this site Batangas-Philippines

Day 4: soundtrack of your life

I listen to wide range of music from rock to hiphop to rnb to love to indie to emo songs. I’m variety like that. and music has been a parcel of my life. I listen to it when I’m elated or depressed or had a bad day or when I want to be in high spirits whenever I’m feeling terrible or just feeling anything and also, I sing and I dance, so basically it’s part of my everyday life. There’s a great number of songs that I really love but this 15 selections is on my top list, not because they are a hit or has a good melody or tune, it’s for the reason that it describes how my life is right now and some of it I listen to when I’m down to boost my confidence, to uplift my emotions and has really helped me to move on from the past mistakes and experiences. I owe a lot to music. can’t live without it.

1. Nothing last forever- Maroon 5 “But nothing lasts forever, but be honest babe
It hurts but it may be the only way”

2. Fell in Love without you- Motion City Soundtrack “Last night I fell in love without you. I waved goodbye to that heart of mine. Beating solo on your lawn”

3. Updated version of me- KC Concepcion “and someday you would realize you made an awful compromise and you wish that you had what you missed”

4. Please don’t stop the rain- James Morrison “If it’s going to be a rainy day. There’s nothing we can do to make it change. We can pray for sunny weather. But that won?t stop the rain”.

5. Strong- Jordyn Taylor “For all the tears i cried for all the sacrifice for all the drama ’cuz in the end it made me stronger so trust me i’ll be fine baby i’ll survive without you, in my life, but i want you to know that you
were the one that broke my heart but i won’t fall apart no.. im so moving on”

6. Bad Romance- Lady Gaga “I want your loving And I want your revenge You and me could write a bad romance”

7. Unstoppable- Kat De Luna feat Lil Wayne “You can talk all you want but my skin is really thick. I’m the leader of a crowd and my game is really slick. I’m unstoppable. You can talk all you want but my skin is really thick
I’m the leader of a crowd and my game is really slick”

8. Ignorance- Paramore “Don’t wanna hear your sad songs. I don’t wanna feel your pain. When you swear it’s all my fault. ’Cause you know we’re not the same. No, we’re not the same, oh, we’re not the same”

9. Queen of Apology- The Sounds “Now I’m fighting this feeling but it never stops, never stops I’m still waiting And I’m stuck with this feeling will it ever stop, ever stop? I keep trying”

10. A call to arms- Urbandub “theres no point to keep your head faced down when all we see and know and feel is temporary, spread your arms and keep your head held high good things are better taken in the less you notice.”

11. All we are- Matt Nathanson “And every day is a start of something beautiful”

12. I’m a Lady- Santogold “And I like sometimes to wave it high Up where everyone can see, I’m a lady”

13. Fearless- Colbie Caillat “ So go on go on and break my heart I’ll be okay there’s nothing you can do to me That’s ever gonna bury me”

14. Just A lil bit- Maria Mena “Just a little bit stronger Just a little bit wiser Just a little less needy And maybe I’d get there.”

15. Crying Out For Me- Mario feat Lil Wayne “If he ain’t gonna treat you right then I ain’t gonna treat you wrong that’s my word”

Day 3: a habit I wish I didn't have

Posted by | | 0 comments

I'm lil bit of a wolf biter. it's an almost dermatophagia. almost because I don't bite the skin around my nails up to the point that they are close to bleeding or something like that. I often caught myself doing that without any reason. When I watch something or thinking or out of boredom, my fingers would always finds itself in my teeth and there goes the act. I wish that I would totally get rid of it because this kind of behavior indicates some emotional problems which is not a good thing. tsk

I would like to have this opportunity to greet my beautiful and loving sisturs from anotha motha a HAPPY 43RD ANNIVERSARY TO OUR SORORITY! :D

Sisterhood is the essence of all the wisdom of the ages, distilled into a single word. You cannot see sisterhood, neither can you hear it nor taste it. But you can feel it a hundred times a day. It is a pat on the back, a smile of encouragement. It's someone to share with, to celebrate your achievements." ~ Anonymous

Day 2: something I cannot live without

Posted by | | 0 comments

This should be some THINGS I cannot live without. I have lots if you may ask. but I’ll just post one.

take out my phone, internet, or tv but you wouldn’t like to take away books from me. Reading has been in my system for God knows how long and books has been my companion ever since. They’re kinda like my comfort zone. I may have to give up a lot of things and habits, but this?. a BIG no no. This will be forever a part of me. always have, always will

of revivals and remake songs

Posted by | | 0 comments

of course, the original will be THE original no one can top that, but sometimes other versions of the songs is somehow better than the first or is more appealing than the first (at least n my opinion). from ballad to rock, rnb to ballad, rap to indie acoustic and so on. This are some of the remakes that I really love listening to than the original one. Womanizer by All american rejects is on my top list because why? as what Tyson Ritter said, they can do it better than Britney and for my part yes they did. their band rocks!

Anya Maria- Whatever You Like (original by T.I.)

umbrella mandy moore, officially missing you,
Silverstein- Apologize (original by One Republic)

Yellowcard- Everywhere (original by Michelle Branch)

David Cook- Always be my baby (original by Mariah Carey)

Mandy Moore- Umbrella (original by Rihanna)

JS- Officially missing you (original by Tamia)

Marie Digby- My life (original by the game and lil wayne)

All american rejects- Womanizer (original by Britney)

is your hair dry? breakable?. dull? rough? and has split ends?. 5 problems, 1 shampoo. L’Oreal Paris Philippines brings you Total Repair 5, it combats 5 signs of hair damage. Expect your hair to be soft, shiny and silky.

What can I say?. This repairing shampoo totally has it all. Since my hair has all those signs,- a result from constant rebonding- I decided to try the new product and I am surprised because it truly is effective. My hair looks more shiny and it doesn’t look dry and dull anymore and oh bye bye hair fall. I’m totally ditching out other brands, this shampoo really rocks. It’s a bit pricey and costs hundred plus bucks. forget the price, look what will it do to your damaged hair. the results are just impressive.

I love it. go buy one, it’s worth it.

Chi the health buff

Posted by | | 0 comments

I'm taking my health consciousness onto the next level. seriously?. yes seriously. First I dived into the idea of a social suicide and I'm quite successful with that. yes I survived- long weeks of no-partying, of being sober and nicotine-free. It's a complete change of lifestyle and there goes being a bit conscious and sensitive with what I eat, drink and take up. for the past 4 years in college I've gone through a wild yet fun experiences;good and bad and some habits should be given up and continuing it will just pose a threat to my health in the near future and I don't want that to happen.

After the recent trip of my lungs to the doctor and found out that is still intact, you should have seen the look in my face, I was super relieved and decided to quit smoking and fyi, the lung cancer stats for women in the Philippines is getting higher through the years and I don't want to be on the list so there. What have I replaced with beers and hard alcohol drinks? milk and water and sometimes buko juice, yeah to clean my liver and kidneys. I know drink lots and lots of water from time to time. I'm not into veggies ever since I was a kid, I'm pretty much of a carnivore but I take into consideration in eating fishes and veggies. I've finally grown a likeness in them though I'm still choosy and picky in what to eat, so I choose ceasar salads and the like. and cookies? oatmeal is my choice. it's delicious and healthy as well.

This whole change of eating habits is not that easy to continue, yes of course I still eat something sinful and all that sometimes but I have to give creadit to myself in doing all this. Change is difficult, it's not something you do overnight, you just got to have this determination and perseverance and in turn you'll succeed.
